Tell us about your organization.
Insightstudio is a full service creative firm located in Madison, Wisconsin.
We do branding, strategy, print, and web, but are primarily an online technology focused organization.
What kinds of technology does your organization utilize?
While we obviously use most basic technology tools and social networking tools as a creative web agency, the technology we utilize is mostly software and personal computer oriented, along with mobile technologies. In terms of high-end technological advancements, we have no special needs. But we like to think of ourselves as out in front, and thus try to have the latest software and hardware available.
What technological challenges does your organization currently face?
Just keeping up with the curve. Technology changes so fast, it’s important for our organization to be agile on the technology front. This is especially important since many clients look to us to provide guidance and leadership on how to use the newest technologies in the Internet sector. Other than that, we struggle, like most other organizations, with the cost of having the latest and greatest technological advancements, and face tough decisions on when upgrades are important.
What, if any, technology policy issues are of importance to your organization? (green technology, broadband deployment, privacy, etc.)
All technology innovations benefit our business. The more technology that is available, the more our services become valuable to our clients and partners. The most important at this point is broadband, as this allows us to leverage more tools on the web to serve our client’s needs. The most interesting is mobile technology – we believe this is the next big frontier to help clients get their message out. Privacy, green technology, high-tech job creation, and other technology issues have obviously all been important to our industry as a whole in the past and will be in the future, so we keep an eye on tand thus important to us.
How does your organization see the future of technology in Wisconsin?
We think the focus of technology in Wisconsin over the next few years will be in the biotech and green sectors. While this doesn’t necessarily directly affect our business, any technology advancements in the state are good for technology-oriented companies. We hope to continue to see technology, especially broadband and mobile technologies, become available to the more rural areas of the state.
Why did you decide to partner with Wired Wisconsin?
Because we had already developed a relationship with them and felt that what Wired Wisconsin is doing is important to our organization, our industry, and Wisconsin.
