YouTube and American politics celebrate 5 years
In just five years, YouTube has transformed the way politicians and constituents interact with each other. It has become an outlet for politicians with endless opportunities to message to a wide audiences as well as a way for constituents to stay connected with politicians.
The five year relationship between YouTube and American politics is filled many with highs and lows. From the creation of the White House YouTube channel to the many impersonations of Sarah Palin, we can now watch infinite hours of political clips on YouTube. The White House uploads around 17 videos a week as way a to keep Americans informed while over 92 percent of US House and Senate members have official YouTube channels. There is no doubt that YouTube is playing an increasingly important role in American politics.
